Embassy of Pakistan: The Ambassador of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Muhammad Aslam Khan, today called on H.E. Sheikh Slaman Sabah Salem Al-Hamood Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Minister of State of Youth Affairs of Kuwait. The Ambassador briefed the Minister on the desire of Pakistani leadership to expand cooperation between the two brotherly countries in diverse fields.


 
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in the fields of media, culture and youth affairs. The Minister assured the Ambassador of his full support to the Embassy's efforts in this regard.

 

KUWAIT: The Ambassador of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Aslam Khan, accompanied by the Commercial Secretary, Mr. Agha Saeed Ahmad, visited Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry  (KCCI) this morning. The Ambassador was warmly welcomed by Mr. Ali M. Thunaian Al-Ghanim, President KCCI. The two sides had a detailed exchange of views on the modalities of enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait in the critical areas of trade and investment.


 
The Ambassador highlighted the vast trade potential that existed between the two countries and the growing investment opportunities in Pakistan. He briefed President KCCI on the upcoming "Expo-Pak", the biggest annual trade fair of Pakistan to be held in Karachi from 26 February to 01 March, 2015.

The two sides agreed that there was need for intensified efforts to bring cooperation in the areas of trade and investment at par with the close brotherly relations between the two countries at the political level.  

KUWAIT (Embassy of Pakistan): In a simple and graceful ceremony  held at Bayan Palace this morning, Pakistan’s new Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, H.E. Muhammad Aslam Khan, presented his Letters of Credence to His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait.  The audience with the Amir, preceded by formal guard of honour, was attended by H.E. Minister of Al-Diwan Al-Amiri Affairs, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid, H.E. Undersecretary of Al-Diwan Al-Amiri Affairs, H.E. Director of   Al-Diwani Affairs Office and H.E. Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  Mrs. Aslam Khan and Embassy officers were also present on the occasion.

The Amir was pleased to receive the Ambassador with great warmth and affection in keeping with the traditions of the close and cordial ties between the two countries. He congratulated the Ambassador on his important assignment.
The Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and sincere regards to His Highness the Amir on behalf of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan. Referring to the traditionally close and brotherly ties between the two countries, the Amir assured the Ambassador of  full support and cooperation by the Government of Kuwait in the fulfillment of his assignment in Kuwait.

The Ambassador extended warm congratulations on behalf of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan and on his own behalf, on bestowing by the United Nations of the honour of “Humanitarian Leader” on His Highness  the Amir of Kuwait and the award of “Humanitarian Center” to the State of Kuwait in recognition of Kuwait’s outstanding contributions in the humanitarian fields around the world.

During the audience lasting about 15 minutes, His Highness the Amir was pleased to discuss with the Ambassador a broad range of important bilateral issues and ways and means of expanding cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields.

Embassy of Pakistan: The Government of Pakistan has decided to establish a Fund to be known as“PRIME MINISTER’S FLOOD RELIEF FUND-2014” for providing relief assistance to the people affected by the flood in the country.  The Fund will receive donations from both domestic and International donors and contributions from abroad. 
 
In this connection the Embassy of Pakistan, Kuwait has opened a Flood Relief Account in National Bank of Kuwait as follows:

KUWAIT: His Excellency Muhammad Aslam Khan, Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Ambassador designate to the State of Kuwait, arrived here on Monday.

On arrival at Kuwait International Airport, he was received by representatives from Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Officers of the Pakistan Embassy.

Ambassador Muhammad Aslam Khan enjoys extensive experience in diplomacy and international relations. During his illustrious career that spans over three decades, he served on various important positions at the Headquarters and Pakistan Missions abroad.

He joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1983. He was Pakistan’s Deputy Chief of Mission in Washington, DC from 2003-2010 and has served in Cairo (1999-2001), Tehran (1994-1998) and Geneva (1987-1990). Before assuming his current assignment, he was Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan.

He holds Master’s Degree in Economics. He is married with five children.

To commemorate the 68th Independence Day of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony would be held at the premises of the Embassy of Pakistan, Kuwait, on 14th August 2014, at 8:30am.
Members of Pakistani community living in Kuwait are cordially invited to attend.

KUWAIT: On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, and in accordance with the Eid holidays announced by the Government of Kuwait, the Embassy of Pakistan will remain closed from 27 July to 31st July 2014. The Embassy will resume its work with its routine office timings from 8.00 am to 04.00 p.m on Sunday 3rd August 2014.
