MANUAL PASSPORTS

Issuance of manual passports is being discontinued except in case of serious emergency/compelling reason. Availing this facility involves submission of documents and duly filled out forms. These forms are available at the embassy & can also be downloaded from the web site.

New Manual Passport

  1. Application on prescribed form ‘A’

  2. Passport in original along with photocopy of the first two pages.

  3. Photocopy of either CNIC or NICOP

  4. Four photographs.

  5. In case of a Child acquiring fresh passport, original birth certificate of child, duly attested by the local Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs, and Original passport/CNIC/NICOP of mother and father are required.

  6. If CNIC/NICOP has not been previously acquired an application for the same is to be made in the adjacent NADRA Office and copy of the application is to be attached with the passport form. In such cases, one year validity passports are issued. After receiving CNIC/NICOP the applicants are encouraged to apply for MRP.

  7. In case of Lost Passport a report from local Police station/immigration authorities is required.

For Renewal/Endorsement of Passport: 

  1. Form C duly filled.

  2. Photocopy of passport.

  3. Photocopy of NICOP / NIC.

  4. Copy of Residence permit

  5. Two photographs of child, being endorsed in passport

  6. Extension in passports is granted for limited validity.


 MACHINE READABLE/COMPUTERIZED PASSPORTS

The Government of Pakistan has decided to discontinue issuance of normal handwritten passports soon. Therefore, all Pakistani nationals must obtain Machine Readable Passport (MRP) 06 months before the expiry of their exiting manual passports.

Requirements:

The applicants have to personally appear without distinction of gender/age to apply for the passport along with the following:-

  1. Original valid National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) / Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), along with its one copy.

  2. In case of minor children(under 18 years) their original Child Registration Certificate (CRC)/ Form -B issued from NADRA, or their NICOP may be presented at the time of applying for MRP, along with its one copy.

  3. Original current Pakistani passport along with its one copy.

  4. In case of dual nationals, please bring original passport of that country and its copy along with the Pakistani passport.

Application Procedure:

Applications for MRPs are accepted during Sunday-Thursday at 0800-1200 hours except on public holidays. Upon reaching the embassy the applicants should obtain their queue token from the reception and deposit fee at Counter No 1 in consular hall. Applicant should present all required documents to the official at the counter. the applicants after depositing fee are requested to proceed to the MRP Section for finger prints, photographs and data entry as per their turns. 

Delivery:

Delivery period for ordinary passports is about 6 weeks, while urgent passports are delivered in minimum 3 Weeks. Applicants are advised to collect their new passports from the embassy in person by presenting computer generated token/receipt and  previous original passport. The new passports can be collected during Sunday-Thursday from 1300-1600 hours except on public holidays.
 

Issuance of Passport in lieu of Lost Passport:

In case of loss of passport following additional requirements are mandatory:-

  1. Report from the local Police station/immigration authorities

  2. Photocopy of the lost passport or its number, date and place of issue.

New passports in place of lost passports are issued only if the previous passport(s) has been verified by the concerned issuing office.

Applicants are advised to have their passports in safe custody so as to avoid loss/damage of this important travel document.
 
If the passport is lost for the third time, further renewal is subject to its approval from authorities concerned in Islamabad. 

Important Notes:

  1. In case the applicants are below 18 years of age, they should be accompanied by their father/mother/legal guardian, along with the latter’s original passport and its one copy. The father/mother/legal guardian will be required to sign at a form which will be provided at the time of application.

  2. Applicants’ thumbs and index fingers of both right and left hands should be without any indelible coloring e.g. ink or henna (menhdi) for proper finger prints.

  3. No endorsement in MRP is possible.

  4. Names of children cannot be included in parent’s passport.

  5. For applicants serving in the Government of Pakistan service, no objection letter from their parent department and authorization from Directorate General of Immigration and Passports are also mandatory.

ATTESTATION OF DOCUMENTS

Educational Documents:

  • Educational certificates issued by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education must be countersigned by IBCC.

  • Degrees issued by various Universities must be attested by Higher Education Commission (HEC)

  • Certificates of technical skill should be attested by the local technical board or trade testing board.

  • All the documents mentioned above must be countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan.

  • All educational certificates issued by Pakistani schools in Kuwait should be attested by the local Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kuwait.

Nikkah Nama:

  • Nikkah Nama in Original issued by Nikkah registrar in Pakistan with his signature and stamp must be countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan.

  • Nikka Namma issued from Kuwait should be attested by Law Ministry Kuwait and Countersigned by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kuwait.

Death/Birth Certificates:

  • Such certificates if issued by a hospital should be signed by MS/DMS of a Government Hospital, in Pakistan.

  • In case these certificates are issued by Union Council, then they should be signed by Secretary Union Council with his stamp.

  • All the documents must be countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan

Divorce Certificate:

  • Should be issued by Chairman of Arbitration Council of the respective Union Council and attested by a Magistrate in Pakistan and countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan.

Power of Attorney (From Kuwait):

  • Bring three (03) sets of the power of attorney; two shall be retained by the embassy.

  • Three (03) photographs, original Pakistani passport and NICOP/CNIC of the executant are required. The executant must come in person to the embassy for signing the power of attorney.

  • Two(02) witnesses (Pakistani Citizens) should come to the embassy, along with their passport and CNIC/NICOPs to sign the power of Attorney.

Power of Attorney (From Pakistan):

  • Must be completed in all respects and attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan.

Driving License Attestation:

  • Valid Original Driving License with an affidavit.

Police Character Certificate:

  • It should be issued by local District Police Officer or in case of tribal areas by Political Agent, And countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan.

Sponsorship Affidavit:

  • If sponsoring a minor, and NOC is required from the father along with his CNIC copy.

  • In case of sponsoring a woman, and NOC from husband if she is married, otherwise if unmarried an NOC be presented from father.

  • The sponsor must come to the embassy for signature of the affidavit.

Miscellaneous Documents:

  • Papers about MBBS/PMDC must be attested by Ministry of Health

  • Nursing Diplomas may be countersigned by nursing superintendent.

  • Medical fitness certificates should be signed by MS/DMS

  • Miscellaneous documents in addition to the documents mentioned above will be disposed off on case to case basis.

  • Documents attested by our camp offices in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta will be at par with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.

  • All above mentioned documents must be countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan

VISA

Visa applications along with the passports may be deposited at the Consular Section of the embassy from 0900 hrs to 1200 hrs on any working day. The applicants may be invited for interview if required. Visa processing by the Embassy may take 02 weeks. Some cases are even required to be referred back to Pakistan for authoritie’s approval, therefore it may take longer time.
 
Following are the general instructions/requirements for submission of visa applications :-
 

  • Submission of valid passport(at least 06 months) and its photocopy.

  • Visa application form duly filed in. Incomplete visa application forms shall not be processed. 

  • Submission of two recent passport size photographs.

  • In case of Business visas, an Invitation letter (preferably from Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan) and letter of recommendation from the company in Kuwait should be attached with visa application forms.

  • Documentary Evidence such as Invitation Letters, Wedding Invitation Cards or hospital/death certificates need to be attached to the application form to justify the objective of the visit, even though the applicant may have visited Pakistan in the past.

  • For Foreign spouses of Pakistani nationals, please provide marriage certificate and copy of Passport of Pakistani spouse.

  • Children (under 18 years of age) proceeding to Pakistan with one of the parents, please attach an NOC from the other parent to allow their child/children to proceed to Pakistan.

  • Visa applicants other than Kuwaitis must have a valid residence permit/Iqama (atleast 03 months) of Kuwait.

  • Afghan Nationals must provide two references in Kuwait along with their copies of Civil ID as well as two references in Pakistan along with their contact numbers in Pakistan and copy of CNIC.

  • Passports can be collected from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on the delivery date.

 
Note :  The Embassy reserves the right to refuse visa without assigning any reason.


NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD FOR OVERSEAS PAKISTANI (NICOP)


NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) is a registration document to be issued to a valid/legitimate citizen of Pakistan. It is mandatory for all Pakistani nationals residing aboard to obtain NICOP.

Documents Required:

  1. Application forms for NICOP are available at the embassy and its website. The form can be filled in and printed on the following link of NADRA’s website:-

  2. The filled in NICOP form in block letters should be accompanied by the following:-

  • Two recent passport size photographs with blue/white background

  • One copy of valid Pakistani/foreign passport, including visa page.

  • Two copies of applicant’s old National Identity Card (NIC)/ Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC)/ Child Registration Certificate (CRC) and any blood relative (Father/ Mother, Brother, Sister, Son & Daughter, Grandfather and Grandmother paternal)

  • One copy of CNIC/NICOP of the person attesting the NICOP Form

  • Ladies who wish to endorse their husband’s name instead of their father’s name in the NICOP should provide two copies each of their husband’s CNIC/NICOP and Nikah Nama (Marriage Certificate).

  • Copy of birth certificate is compulsory for first time registration.

DELAY & REJECTION IN ISSUANCE OF NICOP:

  1. The NICOP issuance may take longer than the routine processing time; in case, the data you have provided is incorrect, ineligible and mismatches with the NADRA data warehouse records i.e. photos, name change, Pakistani/Foreign address, thumb impression/applicant signature. It may also take longer due to any unforeseen reasons.

  2. If during the process the card status changes to “REJECTED”, you’ll be required to provide additional requirements, as it’ll be prescribed in the “REMARKS” column.

PAKISTAN ORIGIN CARD (POC):

The POC program endeavors to provide eligible foreigners with unprecedented incentives to get back to their roots, while ensuring that the motherland remains tightly integrated with expatriates worldwide which includes

  • Visa-free entry into Pakistan.

  • Indefinite stay in Pakistan.

  • Exemption from foreigner registration requirements.

  • Permission to purchase and sell property.

  • Right to open and operate bank accounts.
